As we approach the end of this year, it’s more important to focus on what was learned than to only focus on what we went through.<\/p>\n

I’m going to take what last year\u00a0taught me to help shape my new year’s\u00a0experience-I encourage you to do the same:<\/p>\n

  1. Success has less to do with hard work and more to do with massive\u00a0focus on your few best opportunities.<\/li>\n
  2. Why resist change when it\u2019s\u00a0the main source of your growth?<\/li>\n
  3. The more you invest in growing and developing your mind-set\u00a0and way of seeing the world, the more everything you touch transforms in a breathtakingly positive way.<\/li>\n
  4. Pursuing excellence really does matter (in a world highly accepting of mediocrity).<\/li>\n
  5. Spending full days with zero technology to refuel or do important work is a game-changer.<\/li>\n
  6. Doing something super-nice for at least one stranger a day gives them a gift and an even larger one to yourself.<\/li>\n
  7. Adore your parents. You\u2019ll miss them when they\u2019re gone.<\/li>\n
  8. The smartest thing you can do to grow a great company is to first sweat getting A-players only onto your team and then sweat training and developing them so they play their A-game.<\/li>\n
  9. Most\u00a0TV is toxic.<\/li>\n
  10. Have the discipline to clean out all the energy-draining people in your life. You really do rise or fall to the level of your associations.<\/li>\n
  11. Doing huge dreams we have never done can be frightening. Yet when we push to the edges of our limits, our limits expand.<\/li>\n
  12. If you don\u2019t make the time for yourself to get inspired, no one around you will ever be inspired.<\/li>\n
  13. Your diet affects your moods. Eat like a superstar.<\/li>\n
  14. Talk less. Do more.<\/li>\n
  15. Integrity is more valuable than income.<\/li>\n
  16. Money invested in personal development and growth generally has a 30X plus return on investment<\/li>\n
  17. Your environment (your home, your office, the magazines you read etc.) dramatically affects your levels of achievement.<\/li>\n
  18. The quality of your practice affects the caliber of your performance.<\/li>\n
  19. Measure your success via your influence and impact versus only by your income and net worth.<\/li>\n
  20. To become successful, first\u00a0learn how to be happy. Too many think that the route to happiness is to get successful. Untrue.<\/li>\n
  21. Getting ultra-fit lifts every other area of your life.<\/li>\n
  22. Our biggest enemy is our doubts. We really can achieve extraordinary things in our lives. But we sabotage God-potential because of our fears.<\/li>\n
  23. Drink more water.<\/li>\n
  24. Watch the movie \u201cThe Kid\u201d with Bruce Willis<\/li>\n
  25. If you\u2019re the smartest one of your friends, you need new friends.<\/li>\n
  26. You never go wrong when you trust God and walk in obedience<\/li>\n
  27. Smile. It truly makes a difference to the people around you.<\/li>\n
  28. Just because excellent manners are not so common doesn\u2019t mean that excellent manners are not incredibly important.<\/li>\n
  29. Always remember that there\u2019s food on your table thanks to the customers you are privileged to serve.<\/li>\n
  30. It\u2019s so much better to fail trying\u00a0than to not even get into the game.<\/li>\n
  31. You can change the world or you can worry about fitting in but you just can\u2019t do both.<\/li>\n
  32. Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and beautiful at the end.<\/li>\n
  33. The real key to getting GREAT things done is stop doing so many good things.<\/li>\n
  34. Small little details done\u00a0excellently and consistently stack up into something the world sees as Mastery.<\/li>\n
  35. Spend time in nature to renew and refuel.<\/li>\n
  36. Less entertainment, more education.<\/li>\n
  37. Gratitude is the antidote to misery.<\/li>\n
  38. We become happier not by accumulating more things but by creating richer experiences.<\/li>\n
  39. The more you serve, the more joyful you\u2019ll become.<\/li>\n
  40. Life\u2019s short – Make the most of every moment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
